New Associate Principals Hired for TFSD Elementary Schools

The Twin Falls School District Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the hiring of three new associate principals for six elementary schools. The new positions were on the docket for approval at the Wednesday, Feb. 24 board meeting, 7 p.m. at Lincoln Elementary School.

Each associate principal will cover two schools as follows:

Perrine and Sawtooth Elementary Schools: Jennifer Stokesberry

Jennifer StokesberryStokesberry is a longtime Twin Falls Educator. She taught multiple years of first, second and third grades at Perrine Elementary over the past ten years. During that time she held leadership positions such as Milepost Lead WISE team member, Grade Level Lead, and Afterschool Tutoring Coordinator, just to name a few.

Stokesberry grew up in Dietrich and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Idaho State University in 2006. She also holds a Master’s in Education Leadership, which she received from the University of Idaho in 2011.

When asked what she is excited for as associate principal Stokesberry said, “Being a teacher, you are able to make an impact on your small group of students. In this new position, I will be able to be a role model and leader to the whole school community.”

Rock Creek and Harrison Elementary Schools: Cheri Kober

Cheri KoberKober has been in education for 22 years working in Jerome and Twin Falls. She has worked as a sixth grade and elementary teacher. She currently serves the Twin Falls School district as an instructional coach, working with new and veteran teachers at Robert Stuart Middle School and Bridge Academy.

Kober received a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education in 1994 and a Master’s in Education Leadership in 2014 from Boise State University.

Kober said, “I’m thrilled to join the elementary administrative team to support our staff and make life even better for our students and their families.”

Pillar Falls and Oregon Trail Elementary Schools: LeeAnn Morgan

leeann-morganMorgan comes to the TFSD from the Filer School District where she currently teaches fifth grade. She also taught second grade in File for four years. Her passion for teaching comes from teachers she had while attending TFSD Schools.

Morgan has a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, which she received from Idaho State University in 2010. She is continuing her education through Boise State University and will graduate with her Master’s in Education Leadership in May of 2016.

When asked what she is looking forward to Morgan said, “Having the opportunity to work with tow dynamic principals and be a part of a brand new school is something that excites me. Oregon Trail is the school I attended as an elementary student. I was the first, first grade class in the new school building at the time.”

Why new associate principals?

Former associate principal at Oregon Trail and Harrison Elementary Schools, Tyler Matlock, will become the principal at Oregon Trail. And; Former Perrine and Sawtooth Elementary School associate principal, Nancy Murphy, will become principal at Pillar Falls, as previously announced.

What is an associate principal?

Associate principal is another way to say vice principal or assistant principal. In the TFSD, schools pride themselves on building a culture of teamwork where leaders can grow. These associate principals will play a critical role in setting learning goals and objectives for the school.
