New CRHS Football Coach

The Twin Falls School District #411 is pleased to announce James Poole will be the Head Football Coach at Canyon Ridge High School for the 2021-22 school year. This decision was approved by the School Board on May 10. Poole will fill the role previously held by Sean Impomeni. CRHS will hold a meet and greet on Wednesday, May 12, at 6 p.m. in the CRHS cafeteria.

Poole started coaching football in Sugar Salem in 2018 where he served as special teams coordinator and co-offensive coordinator specializing in work with wide receivers and cornerbacks. During his time in Sugar Salem, the team won three State Championships. Additionally, Poole has experience providing speed and agility training and has coached 6th and 8th-grade basketball.

Poole brings experience from the playing field at many levels. He started his career and Cimmaron Memorial and Bishop Gorman high schools in Las Vegas, NV. In 2006 he was awarded Freshman All American Running Back and in 2019 he was awarded the Nevada Gatorade Player of the Year. Poole continued his football career at Saddleback Junior College where he received Freshman All American Running Back in 2011 before continuing on to the University of Utah. While attending U of U Poole competed as running back, wide receiver, and kick returner. After college Poole attended a camp with the NFL’s Denver Broncos and competed with the AFL’s Screaming Eagles.

“My mission is to turn these boys into young men and I want them to have fun while doing it. I always feel that hate losing more than they love winning and hope that mentality will wear off on the athletes,” said Poole.

Poole holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication from the University of Utah.

“After a long, nationwide search, we feel that things have worked out the way they should and we feel extremely fortunate and excited to hire Coach Poole,” Sean Impomeni,  Activities Director at Canyon Ridge High School. “We are looking forward to seeing him grow as a coach and put his vast knowledge and experience as a player to build our program and get it to the level of excellence we are expecting.
