Waitley holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Idaho State University and a teaching certificate with secondary math endorsement. In early 2025, Waitley also received a Master of Science in Educational Leadership through Western Governors University.

Chris WaitleyBefore transitioning to education, Waitley spent more than a decade in child welfare, including leadership roles at the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. He was twice named “Boss of the Year” by the Mini-Cassia community for his leadership and service.

“I’m honored and excited to take on this new role,” said Waitley. “Activities and athletics are a vital part of the student experience, and I look forward to supporting our coaches, advisors, and students as they pursue excellence in everything they do.”

Waitley will officially begin his new duties this summer as the district prepares for the 2025–26 school year.
