As detailed in Policy and Procedure 3010, to apply for open enrollment, parents or guardians must complete an application form.
Eligibility: Open enrollment is available for students residing within the district as well as students from other school districts in Idaho. Acceptance and class placement are contingent on available space and educator capacity in any given school, grade level, subject area, or program
Application Period: Applications for the next school year may be submitted starting January 1. Applications for the current school year may be submitted on a continual basis.
Approval Process: Approval is contingent upon the receiving school's available space and resources (see Policy and Procedure 3010 for details related to capacity).
Transportation: Transportation for open-enrolled students is the responsibility of the family.
Annual Reapplication: Families utilizing open enrollment must notify the school of their intent to reenroll in January to maintain their placement in the desired school for a second year.
Revocation of a Transfer: Open enrollment status may be revoked if a student fails to meet academic, attendance, or behavioral expectations outlined by the district. Continued enrollment is also contingent upon space availability and the student adhering to district policies.
