TFSD School Board Announces New Bridge Academy Principal

The Twin Falls School District Board of Trustees is pleased to announce Araceli Huicochea as the new principal at Bridge Academy. The new administrative hire was approved at a board meeting Tuesday, June 30, 2020.

Huicochea has been in education for 12 years. She started her career teaching Dual Immersion Kindergarten for one year at Reed Elementary School before moving to Popplewell Elementary  School where she taught English as a Second Language. Huicochea joined the Twin Falls School District team in 2010 teaching English as a Second Language at the Newcomer Center (in Morningside Elementary School and Robert Stuart Middle School) and Robert Stuart Middle School until 2016. From 2016 to 2018, Huicochea taught literacy and mathematics at Robert Stuart Middle School. Starting in 2018, Huicochea served as Instructional Coach at Robert Stuart Middle School providing training and support for teachers to ensure that all instructional staff members utilize best practices to enhance student achievement.   

Huicochea received a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education in 2008 from Boise State University, a Master’s in Bilingual Education from Boise State University in 2011, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership in 2018 from Capella University.

It has been an honor to serve the students, staff, families, and the community in this great city for the past 10 years,” Huicochea said. “I look forward to being of value in this position so that together we may continue to advocate for and support students on their journey to find their passion and lead happy and successful lives.
