Tes Fields

The Twin Falls School District is pleased to announce that Tes Fields has been selected as the new principal at Sawtooth Elementary School, beginning in the 2026–27 school year. Fields currently serves as Principal at A.H. Bush Elementary School and as the District PASS Behavior Director for the Idaho Falls School District. She brings a wealth of specialized experience in student support and instructional leadership to her new role and has led the development of PASS (Proactive Approach to Student Success), a program that provides structured behavioral support and targeted interventions for students.

Fields is known for developing school-wide systems that promote both academic achievement and student well-being. She emphasizes literacy and has spearheaded initiatives to provide every student with a solid classroom foundation while also developing targeted support programs for those who need additional help to succeed. Her expertise in reading instruction is highly respected, and she is currently a member of the Idaho State Department of Education’s Comprehensive Literacy Plan Taskforce.

“Tes brings a unique blend of high-level behavioral expertise and a deep understanding of elementary literacy,” said Nancy Murphy, Director of Elementary Programs. “Her ability to design systems that support the ‘whole child’ ensures that every student at Sawtooth will have the tools they need to thrive both socially and academically. We are thrilled to welcome her back to the Magic Valley.”

Fields began her career in education as an elementary school teacher in the Filer School District from 2016 to 2019, including serving as a mentor teacher, before relocating to Idaho Falls. In Idaho Falls, Fields started as a teacher and quickly moved into administration, where she spent one and a half years as an assistant principal and two and a half years as a principal. Fields earned a bachelor’s degree in early elementary education with a minor in Structured English Immersion and later completed a master’s degree in educational leadership.

“I’m honored to join the Sawtooth Elementary community and look forward to building strong relationships with students, staff, and families. I am excited to build on the great work already happening and confident that every student will be supported and challenged to succeed,” Fields said.

Fields and her family are relocating to Twin Falls as her husband begins a new role at Chobani.

A community meet-and-greet is scheduled for April 30 at Sawtooth Elementary School from 6 to 7 p.m. We invite families and community members to join us, fostering a welcoming environment where everyone can connect with Mrs. Fields and learn more about her vision for the school.
