Rachelle Straubhaar

The Twin Falls School District is pleased to announce that Rachelle Straubhaar has been selected as the new Associate Principal at Sawtooth Elementary School, beginning in the 2026–27 school year. Straubhaar currently serves as a fifth-grade teacher at Sawtooth Elementary School and brings a strong foundation in collaborative leadership, professional learning communities (PLCs), and student-centered support to her new administrative role. Straubhaar will step into the position following Shannon Youngman's transition to Lincoln Elementary School.

“Rachelle has already proven herself to be a trusted teacher leader at Sawtooth, and I am thrilled to welcome her into this new role as Associate Principal,”  said Tes Fields, Sawtooth Principal. “Her deep relationships with staff, students, and families make her an incredible fit for our leadership team. I am excited to work alongside her as we continue building on Sawtooth’s strong foundation and strengthening the support, connection, and success of our students, staff, and school community.”

Straubhaar began her career in education with the Twin Falls School District in 2014, serving as a paraprofessional educator before transitioning into the classroom. From 2018 to 2024, she taught first grade. Most recently, she has taught fifth grade, served on the school Leadership Team, and participated in the Twin Falls School District's Administrative Internship Program.

“I am incredibly honored and excited to take this step at Sawtooth Elementary School,” said Straubhaar. “Having spent my career in the Twin Falls School District, I know how dedicated our staff and families are to student success. I look forward to building strong relationships at Sawtooth and working together to maintain a safe, positive, and thriving learning environment for all of our students.”

Straubhaar holds an Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education from the College of Southern Idaho and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Western Governors University. She will also receive a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University prior to the start of the 2026-27 school year.
