Keep your eyes open for the results of how your child did on today's spelling test. Now the real excitement will begin as we watch to see which students bring in the most donations for the Spell-A-Thon! Good luck everyone.

Lincoln has many great things to offer our students and their families. We have worked closely for years with the Boys and Girls Club. They provide afterschool tutoring and fun activities at no cost to our families. To continue to offer this amazing service, we need your help. Please copy and paste the link and complete a survey to support this program. Thank you for your time.

Mr. Boone is our p.e. teacher at Lincoln. Some people think that p.e. stands for physical education, but I disagree. If you have ever been in the school when Mr. Boone is teaching you know that p.e. actually stands for Pretty Exciting! He always plans activities that get the kids excited and moving. Additionally, he prides himself on modeling what being a good sport and a good teammate looks like. He shares his gym often. Every month he opens it up to our AttenDANCE. (check out the cute photos from this month's dance). Please take a moment to thank him by completing this survey - Mr. Boone.Thank you!

Did you know that Mrs. Morrison had been planning Reading with the Stars since August? She also organizes all things related to our testing and our WIN groups. She is the lady with the Lincoln Lion. Please take a moment to complete a survey on the great job that she does. ( Mrs. Morrison - Survey) Your children's teachers will be sharing more survey links. Thank you.

If you were able to attend Reading with the Stars, then you know what the final spot of the night was. We are participating in the One District, One Book program. Every family at Lincoln now has a copy of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. If you were not able to attend Family Night, a copy of the book was sent home on Friday with your oldest child attending Lincoln. We can't wait to hear what you think about this tale of a China Rabbit.

The stars are all aligned! Tonight is Family Literacy Night at Lincoln. The food trucks are preparing for you as we speak. They will open at 5 and go until about 7. Please bring your spending money and try them out. Everyone will enter through the playground on the corner of Castleford and 3rd. The indoor events run from 5:30-7. We have lots of fun things to do. The Idaho Book Fair will even be open for shopping as a family. Let us know which event was the "star" of the night. See you soon!

Twas the night before Reading with the Stars, when all through the halls,
Not a whisper was heard near the Lincoln Elementary walls.
The streamers were strung and the stars hung with care,
In hopes that the families soon would be there.
The books were all nestled, stacked neat on the shelves,
By three high school boys—our industrious elves!
They traded their jerseys for literacy cheer,
To make sure the magic of reading was near.
With every star shining and the library set,
It’s the best Lincoln night that we’ve planned for us yet.
So grab a new story and follow the light,
Happy Reading to all, and to all a good night.

Galentine's Day was lots of fun at Lincoln. The halls were decorated in notes of praise and celebration recognizing every staff member. The staff was also treated to a yummy breakfast. Special thanks to Mrs. Mix, Ms. Jess, and our kitchen staff for making the day extra special.
