🌟 Classified Employee of the Month! 🎉

Join us in congratulating Sumer Koontz, our Elementary Programs Administrative Assistant and Classified Employee of the Month! 👏

Sumer is passionate about making a positive impact in our community and is always looking for ways to serve others. Her greatest inspiration is her children, and being the best mom she can be is her biggest reward. ❤️ When she's not supporting our elementary schools, you'll likely find her gardening or homesteading. She keeps busy with four dogs, four chickens, and two cows, making life outside the office just as full as life inside it! 🌱🐶🐔🐄

Supervisor’s Note:
Sumer is AMAZING! I am so lucky to have her on my team! She is smart, efficient, and very organized. I cannot imagine doing my job without her!

Thank you, Sumer, for everything you do to support our elementary schools and the Twin Falls School District. We're so grateful to have you on our team!

Dear District Families and Staff,

As we prepare to open our doors for the new school year, our thoughts remain with everyone affected by the recent tragedy in our community. Events like this naturally bring heightened anxiety and concern. Please know that the physical safety and emotional well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority.

We maintain a close, active partnership with local law enforcement to ensure our campuses are secure. This collaboration includes dedicated School Resource Officers and armed security guards in our buildings, joint safety trainings conducted directly on our school campuses alongside police officers, and regular reviews to update our emergency response plans.

As students return to school, parents and guardians may see an increased law enforcement presence near our campuses. We want to assure families that this is not intended to cause alarm, but rather to provide reassurance and support for students, staff, and parents.
Following the recent incident, law enforcement has advised the District that, based on all available information, the incident appears to have been isolated and that the individual acted alone.

While our safety protocols are strong, maintaining a safe learning environment requires all of us working together.

Here is how you can help keep our school community safe:

Report Concerns Immediately: If you see or hear something concerning, whether in person or online, report it directly to local law enforcement or school administrators immediately. Prompt reporting allows professionals to investigate and act quickly.

Stop the Spread of Misinformation: In moments of heightened concern, rumors spread rapidly on social media, causing unnecessary panic and distracting from official safety efforts. Please avoid sharing unverified information or speculation. Rely on official communications from the district and local emergency services for accurate updates.

Talk to Your Children: Encourage your students to share any concerns with a trusted adult at school or home, emphasizing that reporting a potential safety issue is an important responsibility.

Our counselors and support staff will be available across all campuses as school starts to assist any students or staff who may need emotional support.

Thank you for your continued partnership, vigilance, and commitment to keeping our school community a safe, welcoming space for every child.

🔧 Classified Employee of the Month! 🎉 Congratulations to Brycen Rodgers, our Certified Employee of the Month! 👏 Brycen is a valued member of our Maintenance Department and has become a favorite fill-in at schools across the district. Known for his resilience and determination, he consistently goes above and beyond to get the job done. When he's not at work, Brycen enjoys flying his drone, fishing, hiking, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers. 🏈🎣 Brycen says the best day on the job was the day Emory hired him, and we have to agree... we're pretty thankful for that day too! 😊 Thank you, Brycen, for everything you do to keep our schools running smoothly. We appreciate you! Supervisor’s Note: Brycen is one of the hardest working employees we have. No matter what task he approaches, it’s with a positive attitude and he completes it with precision, efficiency, and pride in his work. He is always willing to step in wherever he is needed and constantly goes above and beyond. His sense of humor, especially his famous dad jokes, help create a positive and enjoyable work environment. Over the past few years, he has accomplished an incredible amount, continually growing in his role and earring the respect of those around him. His reputation has become so strong that he is now one of the most sought after Head Custodians when we need someone to fill in. So sought after that Morningside will get to see him every day as their new Head Custodian. #EmployeeOfTheMonth #MaintenanceMatters #TFSDCelebrates #TFSDProud
