During the homecoming game, the Canyon Ridge FFA hosted a petting zoo to help educate our community about a variety of animals — including horses, mini Highland cattle, beef cattle, sheep, mini horses, rabbits, chickens, ferrets, and dairy cattle.

It was a fun and educational experience for families and students alike! 🌾

O’Leary Middle School’s 8th graders had an unforgettable adventure at Bruneau Sand Dunes State Park! 🌤️

The trip gave students and teachers a chance to connect outside the classroom—sharing sleds, teaming up to build sand structures, and laughing as they tumbled down the dunes. Even when the weather turned rainy, spirits stayed high as everyone embraced the fun!

Teachers also enjoyed getting to know their students on a new level. For example, Ms. Marion Johnston discovered that one of her students is a black belt in karate and is currently studying Jiu-Jitsu! 🥋

Despite the drizzle, the day was filled with laughter, teamwork, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Sometimes leadership looks like meetings… and sometimes it looks like grabbing a mop.

TFHS Assistant Principal Mr. Graham jumped in without hesitation when a wet floor needed attention—because that’s what great building administrators do. They step in wherever they’re needed to keep the school running smoothly and safely for students.

Thank you, Mr. Graham, for leading by example and showing what it truly means to serve. 💙🧹

🌟 November Classified Employee of the Month: Cathi Smith

Cathi first pursued this role so she could share her kids’ schedule—but quickly discovered she was meant for this work. Now she’s the person who keeps the heart of Harrison beating strong every day.

From the Principal:
“Mrs. Smith is the most loyal, hardworking, and caring person I’ve ever known. She keeps our office running seamlessly—even in chaos—and never rests until every need is met. Her kindness, honesty, humor, and steady leadership lift our entire school. I truly could not do my job without her by my side. We appreciate her more than words can express.”

🌟 November Certified Employee of the Month: Mary Gallegos

South Hills Middle School – Special Education Teacher

Mary chose special education because she loves watching students learn and grow. Her best days are the ones when a student accomplishes something independently—a moment that reminds her why she loves this work.

From the Principal:
“We are so grateful for Mary, whose passion and belief in every student truly shine. She celebrates every success, sees each child’s potential, and brings joy to our campus—especially through the school store she proudly runs with her students. 🌟 November Classified Employee of the Month: Garrett Johnson

South Hills Middle School – Head Custodian

Garrett began his job thinking it would just be a job—but the more time he spent with students, the more motivated he became to inspire them to do good. His favorite memory? A birthday when teachers had their students sing to him all day long. He’s not a “birthday guy,” but it made his day.

From the Principal:
“Garrett is the heart of our building. His attention to detail, quick response, and genuine care keep our school running smoothly. He supports staff, greets students with kindness, and steps in without being asked. Garrett models positivity and integrity, and his efforts to involve students in caring for our school build a strong community of respect.”

“Mrs. Rodriguez is extraordinary. She pushes her students to grow, connects deeply with each child, and pours her heart into her classroom. Former students return year after year to share their lives with her—proof of her lasting impact.
