📢 Press Release: Incident Report at Canyon Ridge High School

Earlier today, at approximately 1140 hours, a phone call was received by the Twin Falls City Communication Center on a non-emergency line. The male caller claimed to be in a bathroom on campus and that he had a gun. The caller spoke with a thick accent and was unable to provide dispatch with coherent information.



In response to this call, dispatch contacted Canyon Ridge High School and requested a lockdown as a precautionary measure. Officers responded promptly to the school and coordinated with the school administration to ensure the safety of all students and staff.



After a thorough search, it was confirmed that there was no threat present on campus. We want to extend our gratitude to the staff and students at Canyon Ridge High School for their quick and composed response to the situation.



We remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of our community and will continue to work closely with local schools to maintain a safe environment for all.

CRHS students have been released for lunch. Classes will continue as normal this afternoon. Thank you to the TFPD for their quick response in ensuring the safety of our campuses.

CRHS has been checked by law enforcement, and all areas of the building are safe. Law enforcement continues to verify that this report was, in fact, a false report. We will continue to keep you informed as the CRHS campus returns to normal. The lockdown will be lifted momentarily.

CRHS is on lockdown due to a call to dispatch that appears to be a swatting report. Emergency responders are on campus. We will provide additional information as soon as it becomes available.

Last month our secondary teachers were hard at work with Dr. Alcock this week, digging into curriculum mapping. 📚✏️ This process helps ensure that learning is aligned, consistent, and sets students up for success across all grade levels and subjects. Service in action! CRHS students in the Just Serve Club delivered over 200 weekend food packs to Harrison and Perrine Elementary Schools. Each pack is filled with easy-to-prepare meals and snacks to support students who rely on school for nourishment during the week.

Even before the last school year ended, our elementary instructional coaches were preparing to support the District’s first-year teachers for 2025–26.

Before school started, new teachers attended training on district expectations, curriculum, and programs like CHAMPS, Bridges, and Wonders.

Coaches followed up by giving them the chance to observe veteran teachers in action and ask questions.

📜Students in Ms. King’s class celebrated history by recreating the signing of the Constitution—complete with feathered quills and three-cornered hats!
