Future Gifted & Talented (GT) students recently visited to see what the program is all about. They asked questions, connected with current GT students, and dove into hands-on learning. From simulating how bills become laws 🏛️to exploring STEM activities 🔬, students got a true taste of the GT experience, plus a delicious Morningside lunch to top it off!

Learning comes to life at Lincoln Elementary!🌎📚

After studying ecology and biomes in science, Lincoln’s 5th grade students created detailed biome dioramas and presented them to their classmates. From deserts to rainforests, students showed off their creativity and what they learned about our planet’s ecosystems!

Great discussions happening at O’Leary Middle School! 📖💬

Students in Ms. Smith’s and Mrs. Cameron’s Language Arts classes recently held a Socratic Seminar on The Outsiders, exploring themes like identity, belonging, and social divisions. Using evidence from the text, students led thoughtful conversations that showed strong critical thinking, respectful listening, and engagement.

Outside of work, she enjoys gardening and relaxing with some reality TV alongside her daughter, though she’d much rather be soaking up the sun on a beach! Her dream? The Canyon Ridge Building Construction Program attended the Idaho State SkillsUSA Leadership & Skills Conference. Students competed in carpentry and plumbing, representing Canyon Ridge with skill and pride.

🏆 Miguel Patterson took 1st place in the plumbing competition and has qualified for the SkillsUSA National Competition in Atlanta this June! Even more impressive, Miguel is already in his first year plumbing apprenticeship as a junior in high school. Help us congratulate Miguel in the comments!👏

O’Leary students took the stage at Roper Auditorium for their Winter Choir Concert, sharing a wonderful evening of music with the community. Under the direction of Mr. Gibson (6th–8th grade choir) and Ms. Myers (Concert Choir and Chantaire), students delivered fantastic performances that showcased their hard work and talent.

The 7th Annual Magic Valley Builders Association Construction Expo welcomed more than 80 students from Canyon Ridge High School, Magic Valley High School, and Twin Falls High School. Students connected with local companies, learned about career opportunities in the construction industry, and explored potential paths for their future.

Harrison hosted a wonderful Family Night celebrating the district’s One District – One Book selection, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane! 📚✨

Each class showcased art projects inspired by the story, while discussion questions outside classrooms invited families to read and respond together. In the cafeteria, students and families enjoyed hands-on crafts, and an obstacle course following Edward’s journey was a big hit! 🐰

With a great turnout and so many smiles, it was an evening to remember. Thank you to the staff and volunteers who helped make this special event possible! 👏💙

Students from Canyon Ridge High School and Twin Falls High School recently attended the ISU Tech Expo at Idaho State University, where they discovered hands-on career pathways through two-year technical programs. From talking with instructors to watching live demonstrations, students got a real look at what training in these fields is like and the opportunities waiting for them after graduation.

If you stopped by Ms. Greenwood’s Astronomy class before spring break, you might have found yourself playing a board game, all in the name of science. 🎲✨

Students worked together to design and create their own games that demonstrated what they’ve learned about topics like Newton’s Laws of Motion and exoplanets. Activities like this show that assessments don’t always have to be written tests. Sometimes the best way to demonstrate deep understanding is through creativity, collaboration, and a little friendly competition.
