When a school bus has its stop arm extended and red lights flashing, you must stop — from both directions and stay out of the “Danger Zone”
The school bus loading and unloading area is called the “Danger Zone.” Specifically, this is any side of the bus where the bus driver can’t see the child and, therefore, the child is in the most danger. These areas include:
10 feet in front of the bus, where the driver may be sitting too high to see a child
10 feet on either side of the bus, where a child may be in the driver’s blind spots
Behind the school bus
Those few extra seconds protect our students and save lives. ❤️
Let’s all do our part to keep kids safe during National School Bus Safety Week and every day!
#StopOnRed #TFSD #SchoolBusSafetyWeek #ThinkSafety

This week (Oct. 20–24), the Twin Falls School District is reminding everyone that school bus safety is a shared responsibility. Whether you’re a driver, parent, or student, we all play a part in making sure students get to and from school safely.
Let’s keep our roads safe for our kids — slow down, stay alert, and always stop for flashing red lights. 🚦

Kimberly is an Instructional Coach at Sawtooth Elementary, and we’re excited to recognize her.
Originally from Jerome, Idaho, Kimberly began working with elementary students in music at just 16 years old — and she’s loved it ever since! 💛 Her best day on the job? When a former student calls out “Mrs. Williams” and runs to give her a hug.
🔹 One word to describe her: Compassionate
🔹 Inspiration: Her hardworking parents, who always pushed her to do her best
🔹 Pet peeve: Giving up — because failure is okay, but giving up is not
🔹 Hobbies: Kayaking
🔹Bucket List: A trip to Italy
🔹 Little-known fact: She’s written a book!
🔹 How she hopes to be remembered: As someone who valued every person she met
📣 Principal Note:
Our school’s instructional coach, Kim Williams, is an invaluable asset to the entire staff, consistently offering unwavering support and guidance wherever it’s needed. She is always willing to jump in, whether it’s in a classroom, a planning session, or a hallway conversation–bringing a fresh perspective that helps teachers grow and thrive. Her professionalism and collegiality set a positive tone for collaboration, and she models the kind of reflective practive we aim to instill in our students. She listens without judgment, creating a safe space for honest dialogue, yet never hesitates to offer her insights in a kind, constructive, and solution-focused way. Her dedication to supporting teachers shines through in everything she does, and her presence enriches the school community as a whole.

Originally from Twin Falls, Stephanie enjoys hiking, camping, and dreams of visiting all the National Parks one day. Described best as determined, she finds inspiration from the kids she works with and her co-workers. Stephanie believes this career chose her.
When asked what the best day at work is, she simply said:
“Every day is the best day. It’s all about perception.”
💬 One thing most people don’t know? Probably her age!
🐾 Pet peeve? When people don’t make an effort.
💖 Legacy? Being remembered as someone always willing to help.
📣 Principal Note:

Earlier today, at approximately 1140 hours, a phone call was received by the Twin Falls City Communication Center on a non-emergency line. The male caller claimed to be in a bathroom on campus and that he had a gun. The caller spoke with a thick accent and was unable to provide dispatch with coherent information.
In response to this call, dispatch contacted Canyon Ridge High School and requested a lockdown as a precautionary measure. Officers responded promptly to the school and coordinated with the school administration to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
After a thorough search, it was confirmed that there was no threat present on campus. We want to extend our gratitude to the staff and students at Canyon Ridge High School for their quick and composed response to the situation.
We remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of our community and will continue to work closely with local schools to maintain a safe environment for all.
