👏 Applause to Kayla Florio, Classified Employee of the Month for May! 👏
Kayla is a paraeducator at Oregon Trail Elementary.
Kayla is from Apollo, Pennsylvania, and is described as funny and outgoing. She likes reading, gardening, and taking care of her chickens. Many people don’t know that she is left-handed and used to be a dental assistant. She chose this career because she loves helping kids. After all, they are our future. She is inspired by strong and happy individuals, and of course, her mama. Her pet peeve is a dirty house/workplace. Someday, she would like to fly to Iceland and see the northern lights, and she would like to be remembered as someone compassionate and kind towards everyone. Her best day on the job is every day because she gets to come and interact with the kids and her supervisors.
Principal Note:
Kayla has a remarkable gift for working with children, building trust and connection with ease. In her first year, she has embraced every aspect of the role with dedication and enthusiasm, quickly becoming a trusted and valued member of our team. Kayla consistently goes above and beyond, always willing to help wherever needed. Her positive attitude and heart for students are inspiring.

Ms. Franz’s 2nd graders at Harrison Elementary recently completed an amazing art project using recycled materials like cans, paper towel rolls, bottles, and newspapers! 🖍️✨
This hands-on project was part of their "How can we protect the Earth?" lesson, where they read the story The Art Project, inspiring them to create beautiful art from what others might throw away. 🌍💚

🍋👏 Big congratulations to Karleigh Brown, a 7th grader at RSMS, and Alacyn Browan, a freshman at CRHS, for their incredible work in helping pass House Concurrent Resolution 11! This resolution is all about creating opportunities for young entrepreneurs.
As owners of Lemonade Sista’s in TF, these young business leaders took their passion all the way to the state capital, where they were recognized for their efforts. What an amazing achievement! 🎉💼
