👏 Applause to Glenn Nichols – September Classified Employee of the Month! 👏
Glenn Nichols is a Testing Coordinator at Twin Falls High School, originally from Churubusco, New York. Glenn brings a world of experience to his role — one thing most don't know about him is that he was a reporter, video photographer, and HR manager before he took on his role at TFHS! Now, he’s joined a career in education as a way to give back to the community. 💙
Glenn is inspired by his parents, who raised nine children with compassion, encouragement, and the belief that anything is possible. He’s also deeply grateful for the support and leadership of TFHS administrators, past and present. 🙌
When he's not working, Glenn enjoys reading (perfect for a Testing Coordinator!) and both online and offline gaming. 🎮📚 He dreams of traveling abroad one day.
Glenn hopes to be remembered by the students he’s worked with as someone who saw their true potential — and helped them see it too. As he says:
“I want them to remember Mr. Nichols as a factor that they will remember!”
And his best day on the job? The day he was hired.
“I love my job and the staff that I work with.”
Principal Note:
Glenn is an outstanding employee who consistently goes above and beyond to support the needs of both students and staff. This summer, he took the initiative to personally ensure that our IDLA students and their parents received clear communication about course progress, deadlines, and his availability to provide assistance with content and required tests. He also maintained regular communication with me, our counselors, and IDLA teachers so that everything was well-documented and seamless.
Beyond his professional excellence, Glenn is also an accomplished chef who generously shares his culinary creations with TFHS staff. His generosity, inclusiveness, and thoughtfulness make him one of the most exceptional colleagues I have ever had the privilege of working with.

📚✨ Compliments to Kathleen “Janell” Phipps – September Certified Employee of the Month! ✨📚
We’re proud to recognize Janell Phipps, ELA Teacher for 11th & 12th grade at Canyon Ridge High School! 🙌
Janell is originally from a tiny town in Northern North Dakota. She chose to teach because of her high school English teacher, Mrs. Marion Wolden, who not only sparked her love for reading and grammar but also helped her discover her own voice as a writer. Mrs. Marion is also her inspiration as a teacher and showed her how one teacher's belief can change a life. Today, her students inspire her through their curiosity, resilience, and unique stories.
Described in one word: evolving. 💜 Janell hopes to be remembered as a teacher who believed in her students, helped them think for themselves, and reminded them that their voices and lives truly matter.
“More important than any lesson I teach is helping students know they truly matter.”
Outside the classroom, Janell is as adventurous as she is thoughtful. Her hobbies include crocheting, hunting, and sturgeon fishing, and one of her bucket list items is to spend a month off-grid in Alaska. 🏕️🎣
Her pet peeve? When people treat swear words like punctuation.
Her best day on the job?
“Every day I get to spend with teenagers.”
Principal Note:
Janelle is a hardworking and passionate English teacher whose dedication shows in everything she does. Her classes are always full, and students consistently share how much they enjoy learning from her. Beyond her impact in the classroom, we truly appreciate her veteran leadership and the outstanding example of professionalism she sets for those around her. She inspires both students and colleagues, and we are grateful to have her at Canyon Ridge High School.

🧡 BTHO Week: Raising Awareness, Saving Lives 🧡
September 17–20
Next week, the JAE Foundation is leading BTHO (Beat the Heck Outta) Week, an effort to raise awareness and prevent suicide in our schools and communities.
One of our own, Garrett Glasheen, is stepping up in an extraordinary way. He’ll be running 804 ladders—one for every year each of our schools has been open—as a powerful symbol of dedication.
Garrett shared:
“Ultimately, my driving force is that every year I have been in this district, we have lost at least one student to suicide. I will not stop doing anything and everything I can until that number is zero… if teachers and staff show up and students recognize how much they mean to us, we may be able to achieve that goal someday soon.”
Garrett is encouraging others to join this powerful movement. See the flyer for details on how you can participate.
