Shout out to Ms. Tubbs's class! They were the fifth correct response to the last our Disney weeks for the "What's This Song?!?" Wednesday Award. This week's song was "I'll Make a Man Out of You" from Mulan.
Mrs. Ferrara's class has been studying decimals and the relationship between tenths and hundredths. Today, we were the staff of Ferrara's Hamburger Hut. We had to take orders from customers and calculate the price. We used knowledge of addition, decimals, tenths, hundredths, and our listening and speaking skills.

Friday was a slimy day in Ms. Denny’s class! 🧪🟢
Students read a book about slime in the ocean, watched a fascinating (and slightly gross!) video about hagfish and slime molds, and learned the science behind why slime works.
Then it was time for hands-on fun as they made three different types of slime: Water Slime, Regular Slime, and Cloud Slime. It was a messy, exciting way to explore science and learn how materials can change and react!

✨ Week 27 at Oregon Trail was one to remember! ✨
This week brought lots of memorable moments for our students and staff. We celebrated a sweet Kindergarten wedding, practiced safety during an ALICE Drill, and wrapped up the week with a half day as we closed out Quarter 3.
Some classes celebrated the end of the quarter with special activities. In Mrs. Boyle’s 5th Grade, students enjoyed a magical Disney Day! 🏰 Students created their own Magic Bands, made Mickey Ear headbands, listened to music from around the parks, and even got to “ride” a few rides. 🎢
What a fun and magical way to celebrate all the hard work from the third quarter! ✨📚

🏗️ Future Builders at Work!
Students in Mrs. Boyle’s class have been busy exploring volume by becoming mini architects and building inspectors! First, they “built” buildings and checked permits, then created their own cubic units to measure small, medium, and large boxes. 📦
What’s next? Students will begin discovering how to find volume using multiplication instead of counting every cube. They’ll continue to look at how cubes are arranged in layers and start using the formula length × width × height to figure out the total number of cubic units in their buildings.
We can’t wait to see the amazing structures (and math thinking!) they create next! 🧱📏

Week 26 brought classic Idaho weather—sunshine, wind, snow, and rain all in one week! ☀️🌬️❄️🌧️ Students soaked up the sunshine during recess and even during class time when we could. On other days, the weather kept us inside, but that didn’t stop the learning and fun!
Students worked hard collaborating with their peers and teachers, finishing assignments and moving on to extra STEAM activities. We also saw students stepping up to teach their classmates how to play different games—always great to see leadership and teamwork in action! 🎲🤝
We are also starting to see a second round of illnesses making their way through the classroom, so we appreciate everyone continuing to keep students home when they aren’t feeling well. Here’s hoping for healthy days and a little more sunshine ahead! 💙

Officer Eric visited one of our Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade classes last Friday to read to students. We love when members of our community come in to share their time and love of reading with our kids. Thank you, Officer Eric, for making it such a special day!
Last Friday, students and staff in Ms. Oberg's Room participated in a sink or swim experiment for FUNctional Friday! Students worked within five groups to make predictions that they tracked on a visual sheet and then as a class we tested each item out. So much fun and learning happened in Rm. 103! Mrs. Willsey shared two different pieces of pumice stones as our grande finale, and this was very exciting to see the rocks float! Thank you to Mr. Willsey, a geologist, for sharing!
Mrs. Peacock was walking past the music room and was drawn in by the sounds of the ukulele!
Mrs. Ferrara's students have been working on naming fractional parts on a geoboard as part of our fraction unit. Student observations have been extended into comparing, adding, and subtracting fractions. Their culminating task was to design vegetable gardens using a geoboard to find the optimal way to plant the vegetables for the space needed. Students then presented their geoboard gardens to the class, discussing the fractions used for each space.
Third time this year?!? Yes. Ms. Boyles' class did it again! They were the fourth correct answer to our "What's This Song?!?" Wednesday listen on the morning announcements. This time around it was Disney's "Touch the Sky" from the movie Brave.
Mrs. Ferrara's class has been studying the Road to Independence in ELA. Students created a timeline starting with the French and Indian War and ending with the Treaty of Paris. Students are able to list the major events that led the colonies to break away from Great Britain and become an independent nation.
