On the 100th Day of School, a group of 5th graders, Ms. Denny, and Mrs. Peacock visited a nursing home to spread Valentine’s cheer ❤️

The 100th Day of School was so much fun last week! Ms. Oberg’s class celebrated together in so many special ways. 💯🎉

Families are invited to join us in celebrating school spirit by helping students dress up each Friday in February.

Week 21 was so much fun! 🎉 We’ve been preparing for February, learning card games, dancing before school, practicing the days of the week, listening to Mrs. Willsey’s Morning Meeting lessons, enjoying snacks, participating in assemblies, and celebrating the 100th Day of School! 💯📚

FUNctional Friday included a Circle Map to talk about Snow, and then working in groups to make “Speech Snow”!

Ms. Oberg’s class has been doing lots of writing about the new year!

🎉 Growth worth celebrating! 🎉 Today we recognized students who showed the most growth on their Reading or Math i-Ready tests. Way to work hard and keep pushing yourselves—we are SO proud!

Mrs. Ferrara's Class:

As part of our Earth science unit and our Geology reading unit, students investigated differences in "lava" types in order to explain the differences in the shape and eruption patterns among different volcanoes. Students needed to collaborate on several labs, analyze results, and report findings back to their peers.

Week 20 is in the books! 🎉

Our students had a blast bowling in P.E. with Coach Miller 🎳, teachers were treated to lunch thanks to Ms. Schroeder 🍽️, and our amazing 5th graders teamed up with our kinders for some special learning time 💙.

Classrooms were buzzing as students participated in counting collections and confidently led their classmates during number talks. Way to go, everyone—learning and leadership in action!

🎉 Next Friday, January 30th, is our 100th Day of School! 🎉

Let’s celebrate by dressing up like we are 100 days old—get creative and have fun as we mark 100 days of learning and growth!

Mrs. Ferrara's Class:

As a finale to our CKLA reading unit, Eureka! Student Inventors, our class collaborated to create new inventions using recycled materials. Students brainstormed ideas, diagrammed their designs, worked together to solve problems, built their inventions, and completed a series of tasks to prove that their creations worked.

Last Wednesday: "Shout out to Ms. Oberg's class for being the FIRST correct answer for our What's This Song?!? Wednesday award! The song last week was "Can't Stop the Feeling!" performed by Justin Timberlake."

Today: "Nice work, Ms. Denny's class! They were the fifth correct answer for our What's This Song?!? Wednesday Award! This week's song was "Count on Me" performed by Bruno Mars."

Week 19 was a blast! We practiced expectations, rocked our morning meetings, teamed up with playground staff, and had tons of fun with team-building activities like cup stacking challenges and dance parties. We also had fun with special coloring pages that our support staff will soon see—so much positivity, teamwork, and appreciation all around!
