Kudos to Cheryle Worthington SpEd Paraprofessional at South Hills Middle School and Classified Employee of the Month for November. Originally from Jerome, Idaho, Cheryle chose this career to help children learn and succeed. She draws inspiration from the smiles on children's faces and dislikes hearing “I can’t”. Cheryle wants to be remembered for her love of people and the word that best describes her is caring. She likes to sew and would like to see the Lincoln Memorial. For her, the best day on the job is the first day with the children. Principal Note: Cheryle is kind and caring, always has a smile on her face, and is a cheerleader for students. She is a great team player and an essential member of our SpEd department. We are lucky to have her and hope that she stays with South Hills for many years to come.

Monica chose her career in her hometown of Twin Falls for the satisfaction of helping people, especially children, in whatever way she can. Monica finds inspiration in her family and would like to be remembered as someone who contributed to something positive in someone else’s life. The word that best describes her is perseverance. Her pet peeve is lies and injustice. Her favorite hobbies are walking and exercise, some people don’t know that she is a P.E and gymnastics teacher in her country. The one activity she would like to do is travel as much as possible. Principal Note: Monica Reynosa Meza has been an exceptional addition to the Harrison family. She is always where we need her to be, running from place to place and assisting students in every possible way. Her demeanor is warm and friendly and our students adore her. She is kind and calm. Congratulations Jennifer Pauley, a kindergarten teacher at Harrison Elementary, for being Certified Employee of the Month for November! Jennifer, a Twin Falls native, began teaching because of the inspiration from all the amazing teachers who made learning fun for her. Her best day on the job is when the seniors come back through the school. She feels seeing how they have grown and remember where they started is so much fun. She draws inspiration from the excitement in a student’s face when they finally understand something. Her pet peeve is eye-rolling and she is mortified to speak in front of a group of adults. The word that best describes her is she is passionate. Her favorite hobby is gardening and her number one activity on her bucket list is to see the ocean. Jennifer would like to be remembered as a kind, warm-hearted individual who loved being a teacher. Principal Note: Harrison Elementary is lucky to have Jen Pauley on staff. She cares about all of our students and does everything she can to make sure that they know they are loved. It is not uncommon to see her walking down the hall and students of every grade stop her and say hi or get a hug. Jen will go above and beyond to help anyone and truly has the biggest heart. She helps all of our staff with EdHub and has been a mentor and leader in our kindergarten team. She is focused and dedicated and this honor is so well deserved. Thank you Jen Pauley from all of the staff, students, parents, and especially the administration of Harrison.

🦋✨ At CRHS, Ms. Linn’s sophomores are diving deep into the topic of symbolism as they prepare to read "Night". Each student was assigned an individual Holocaust victim and received a “passport” containing their victim's photograph, name, birthdate, and location. Using this information, the students are creating symbolic butterflies that will adorn our bulletin board. 🌼 #CRHS #Symbolism #RememberingLives #history

Leading up to Election Day, you'll see posts from the TFSD regarding the Supplemental Levy. We hope these posts provide information so that all community members can make an informed decision on election day. Where do I vote? At your regular polling place. To determine your polling place or for more information about absentee voting, please visit voteidaho.gov or call the Twin Falls County Clerk at 208-736-4004. The estimated average annual cost to the taxpayer on the proposed levy is a tax of $91 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value, per year, based on current conditions. The proposed levy replaces an existing levy that expires on June 30, 2025 and that currently costs $72 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value. Therefore, if the proposed levy is approved, the tax per $100,000 of taxable assessed value is expected to increase by $19 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value. To put it in perspective, the estimated tax impact of the proposed levy equates to $7.58 per month for every $100,000 of taxable property value (after homeowners exemption). This would be an increase of $1.58 per month per $100,000 of taxable value from the current levy rate. To learn more about the supplemental levy, visit https://www.tfsd.org/supplemental-levy/
