Newcomer Centers
We have two Newcomer Centers in the Twin Falls School District. These centers assist students and families who are newly arrived in the United States and are referred by the CSI Refugee Center. Elementary students attend Lincoln Elementary. Secondary students are welcomed to Robert Stuart and Canyon Ridge High School. All age groups receive a thorough introduction to American culture and school processes. They are also instructed in English and core subjects for about six months to a year or until they are comfortable with school and prepared to transition to their home schools. At those schools, they are continually assisted in the Multi-Language Learner program.

Each link offers information about education and parent engagement for that group, as well as cultural information, language, and significant points to remember and/or teaching strategies. There are other links at the bottom of each page to sites with additional information pertaining to that cultural group.
