Each high school has a Driver Education class. Students may register in the front office during the registration dates posted above. Students are selected chronologically by birthdates. We decide how many students are needed to fill the session and then invite students and parents to a meeting to explain how to obtain a permit and pay the fee. The cost is $180 for the class and a fee of $21.50 to purchase the permit. Students must have a certified copy of birth certificate with the stamped seal on it to purchase the permit. Be sure you have this birth certificate before you sign up. NO photocopies of the birth certificate are allowed. Students must be at least 14 ½ years of age and have a 2.0 G.P.A. to enroll in the class.
Canyon Ridge High School runs their classes from 6:50-7:50 a.m. 5 days a week for 7 weeks. Classes are held in room 401.
Twin Falls High School runs their classes from 7:00-8:00 a.m. 5 days a week for 7 weeks. Classes are held in room B3.
Driving times are scheduled by the instructor, usually after school and on the weekends.
Students are allowed only 2 absences, 3 tardies equal one absence. Students are graded on the classroom, driving, and attitude. Students must pass all 3 areas to pass the course. Students will be charged a missed drive fee of $25 for missing a scheduled drive.
