Educational Technology and Operations

The Director of Educational Technology and Operations works closely with the Superintendent overseeing building and construction projects, transportation, facilities management and maintenance, safe and secure learning and work environments, child nutrition staff, and technology staff. The director analyzes data while monitoring the attendance zone population shifts to maintain attendance zone boundary equability. Other responsibilities include managing and chairing appropriate district committees such as the Safety Committee and the Technology Committee.

Public Relations

The Director of Public Relations coordinates internal and external district communications, plans district events, works with staff and media to promote and cover district events, prepares publications and promotional materials, and maintains the district website. The director is also responsible for the review, revision, and compliance with district policy and state laws. She oversees all grant writing, administration, and distribution as well as public records requests. Contact the director if you have information that you would like to release to the media or would like on the website, need help designing, writing or updating materials, need copies of district produced materials, or if you are a media representative and would like to speak to someone regarding a particular subject.

Dr. Dickinson has been with the Twin Falls School District since 1995.  He started his career as a social studies teacher at Robert Stuart Middle School in 1995. In 2007, he took the role of Vice Principal and Athletic Director at Robert Stuart Middle School. Dr. Dickinson helped with the planning and opening of Canyon Ridge High School as the school’s first Principal in 2009. That same year he received the Extra Mile Award from the Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce. While working as the Principal at CRHS in 2011, he received the Milken Award for the State of Idaho, which honors inspiring excellence in the world of education. Dr. Dickinson moved to a role in the District Office in 2013 to serve as the Director of Operations. Under his leadership, the TFSD built three new schools and provided needed upgrades to many of the district’s aging buildings. He became superintendent in 2016 taking on the district’s mission to “Provide a quality education necessary for all students to be successful in life.”

Secondary Programs Director
Secondary Programs

The Secondary Programs Director works with district administrators to implement programs and practices that improve student learning and the school district as a learning organization. He coordinates instructional leadership training and develops, implements, and evaluates in-service training programs. The director works with high school and middle school principals and staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum assessments and new instructional materials, methods, services, and programs. He communicates the curriculum to staff and maintains a list of approved instructional materials. He also directs secondary testing and evaluates results. The director is a resource for any questions regarding curriculum development and assessments, textbook adoption, or if you would like to be on a committee to improve curriculum and/or instruction.

Dr. Erickson has been with the Twin Falls School District for five years. A University of Wyoming and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas alumni, Dr. Erickson was previously employed with the Blackfoot School District. Dr. Erickson has four children at four different schools in the Twin Falls School District.

Audiology services include oversight and participation in a district-wide hearing screening program, free diagnostic audiological evaluations and central auditory processing evaluations for students, support through IEP or 504 teams for students with hearing loss, troubleshoot hearing aids and provide support for classroom amplification and personal FM equipment as needed, and collaborate with local agencies and professionals to provide optimal care for students with hearing loss.

Executive Secretary to the Superintendent/Clerk of the Board job duties include accepting calls to the superintendent or Board of Trustees; schedules Board of Trustees and Superintendent appointments/meetings; answers TFSD #411 policy and procedure questions; communicates with schools information regarding District policies, requirements, and instructions as directed by the Superintendent or Associate Superintendent; maintains and organizes district permanent records such as tort claims, grievances, judgments, complaints, agreements, public notices, election documentation, contracts, and leases; prepares, distributes, and posts board meeting agendas, board packets, and other material for board meetings; and organizes the district calendar review committee. Mrs. Lucas is also a notary public for the State of Idaho.

Mrs. Lucas has been with the district since 2005.  Prior to that, she worked as an administrative assistant at West Bonner County School District for five years.

The Director of Support Services provides leadership implementing and maintaining age 3-21 Special Education programs and services in conformance to district, state, and federal objectives and laws; planning, designing, and implementing all phases of service provided by the Special Education staff; serving as a resource to patrons, school personnel, and the Board; and maintaining adequate staffing to ensure objectives of programs and services are achieved within budget.  Kindel has been in the field of special education since 1991. Before coming to the Twin Falls School District as the Support Services Director he previously served as the Special Services Director in Jerome for 13 years. Prior to becoming a director, Kindel worked with the Idaho State Department of Education as a special education consultant.  He began his career as a special education teacher at Sawtooth Elementary, and he also taught at Robert Stuart Middle School in the Twin Falls School District.  In 2013 he was awarded the 2013 Idaho Outstanding Special Education Administrator award, and was selected as the 2015 Idaho State University Outstanding Educator.

Elementary Programs

The Elementary Programs Director works with the district administrators to assure implementation of programs and practices that improve instruction, student learning, and student achievement. Working with elementary administration the director coordinates instructional leadership training and professional development for elementary staff, the implementation and evaluation of curriculum, and review of assessment data results. The director is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of new curriculum, instructional strategies, and pedagogy. She leads district grade-level teams through the implementation of new initiatives. The director is a resource for questions regarding curriculum development, assessments, textbook adoption, and grading practices. 

 

Mrs. Peterson is new to the Twin Falls School District. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in K-8 education from Alaska Pacific University, a Masters Degree in Curriculum Design and Instruction, for the University of Phoenix, and a K-12 Leadership Endorsement from the University of Alaska: Southeast. She comes to Twin Falls after 22 years of teaching and school administration in Alaska.
