TFSD Selects New South Hills Middle School Principal

The Twin Falls School District #411 Board of Trustees is pleased to announce Araceli Huicochea will be taking the role of Principal at South Hills Middle School for the upcoming school year. They made this announcement on Wednesday, March 20.

Huicochea is currently the principal at Bridge Academy Alternative Middle School. She started her career teaching Dual Immersion Kindergarten for one year at Reed Elementary School before moving to Popplewell Elementary  School where she taught English as a Second Language. Huicochea joined the Twin Falls School District team in 2010 teaching English as a Second Language at the Newcomer Center (in Morningside Elementary School and Robert Stuart Middle School) and Robert Stuart Middle School until 2016. From 2016 to 2018, Huicochea taught literacy and mathematics at Robert Stuart Middle School. Starting in 2018, Huicochea served as Instructional Coach at Robert Stuart Middle School providing training and support for teachers to ensure that all instructional staff members utilize best practices to enhance student achievement. Huicochea became the principal at Bridge Academy in 2020.

Huicochea received a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education in 2008 from Boise State University, a Master’s in Bilingual Education from Boise State University in 2011, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership in 2018 from Capella University.

“I am honored to serve as the future principal of this incredible school community. Thank you for placing your trust in me to lead South Hills Middle School into the future,” Huicochea said. “I am excited to embark on this journey to continue fostering an environment where every member of our school community feels valued and empowered to achieve their dreams.” 

Huicochea will take the role previously held by Sara Praegitzer who is leaving the Twin Falls School District.
