The welding departments goal is to teach basics of welding. We teach a little of the theory but tend more to the hands on side of the class. Our first year class is a semester long and we only do flat position welding. Our second year class a year long class. We weld out of position, horizontal, vertical,and overhead. Mixed with a little book work. Our Third years, Are project oriented and learn to Tig Weld. At the end of year 2 and year 3, we give the opportunity for one certification in the flat position.

This course is designed to introduce the student to the basic skills required for ARC welding, MIG welding, TIG welding, oxyacetylene welding and cutting and Plasma cutting. This course will provide a wide range of topics related to the welding trade such as terminology as well as application of learned skills and techniques. Welding I is offered in the summer during Summer School hours; 7:30-10:30 a.m. & 11:00-2:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.

This course is a continuation of Welding 1; designed to expand the student’s knowledge, improve learned skills, and encourage creativity. The student will continue to develop necessary skills and techniques using all four welding processes in all four positions flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead. This course will provide a wide range of topics related to the welding trade such as terminology, knowledge of the conceptual process of welding as well as application of learned skills and techniques.

This course is a continuation of Welding 2. Students design and create projects with welding skills.
